Community Associations Institute Presents “Community Law Day”
Workshop for HOA Board Members & Leaders

 

This 8th annual day of learning helps community board members and volunteers from across NC to enact best practices and better understand the state and federal laws that apply to HOAs and condominium associations.

Volunteer leaders are entrusted with responsibility for the legal and financial well-being of common-interest communities. This workshop helps them carry out these responsibilities with greater knowledge and confidence.

All are welcome.

NC attorneys who focus their practices on the complex issues of responsible HOA leadership will offer a variety of topics for both seasoned and less experienced attendees. A sampling of typical topics:  

  1. Top 10 Board Member Mistakes & How to Avoid Them
  2. Collections A to Z
  3. Understanding Community Insurance Needs
  4. Community Pools, Facilities & Amenities Issues
  5. Architectural Design Review & the Committee
  6. Condominiums- Managing Risk
  7. Dealing with Bullies, Tyrants, and Difficult People
  8. Builder/Construction Defects & Bankruptcy Issues
  9. State/Federal Case Law Update
  10. 2017 Sales Tax & its impact on HOA budgets

Attendees are provided with access to slide presentations following the event.  

 

When: Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Where: The Harris Conference Center, 3216 CPCC Harris Campus Drive, Charlotte, NC

Cost: $80 with individual CAI-NC membership; $99 all others 
Includes lunch, continental breakfast, parking and all learning sessions and slide decks
