Community Associations Institute (CAI) announces the opening period for scholarship applications to attend CAI's 2018 Annual Conference and Exposition, May 9–12, in Washington, D.C.

CAI homeowner members who serve on the governing boards of their homeowners associations or condominium communities are eligible to apply for one of several scholarships to CAI's Annual Conference. Each scholarship includes free conference registration and up to $1,000 to cover travel and lodging expenses. The application deadline is Jan. 26.

The annual event brings together nearly 2,000 community association homeowners, managers, management company executives, association board members, and business professionals serving the 342,000 condominium, co-ops, and community associations in the U.S. and millions more worldwide. Applicants must be CAI members in good standing and have served one full term on the board of a homeowners association or condominium. (Employees of companies that do business in the community association field are not eligible.)

The three-day conference kicks off with keynote speakers Cam Marston and Katty Kay and includes more than 30 education sessions. This year's exhibit hall will also feature the largest international community association show in the world.
“CAI's annual conference is the premier event for industry leaders to gather, share ideas, and network with community association peers from around the world," says Thomas M. Skiba, CAE, CAI's chief executive officer. “Each year, we're proud to offer scholarships to our members to ensure they can experience the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and hands-on education to help them better understand the responsibilities of community association boards."
To date, CAI's total membership is nearly 36,000 and includes volunteer homeowner leaders who serve on their association boards in homeowners associations (HOAs), condominium communities, and cooperatives, as well as community management professionals and business partners serving these communities.

For complete details, application requirements, and access to the scholarship application, visit To apply, complete the application by Friday, Jan. 26. Scholarship winners will be notified by March 1.
