Update on HB 594

From the NC Legislative Action Committee:

CAI has worked closely with Representative Howard over the last few days on amendment language to this leasing bill, which initially took away property rights of homeowners. The newly agreed upon language better balances the interests of the parties in a planned community to determine the uses and protect the property values in the community by only applying to associations formed after adoption and where the Declaration does not provide lease restrictions of any type.

The bill passed the NC House Judiciary Committee May 3 and is expected to be on its way to the Senate soon.
