In accordance with CAI-NC bylaws, the 2019 Nominating Committee has set forth the following nominees for the Board of Directors term beginning 1/1/2020:
Business Partner classification: Andrew Bateman, TriSure Corporation and Adam Beaudoin, Ward and Smith, PA
Manager classification: Brooke Hoff, PPM and Neale Turlington, CEPCO

Petitions for other nominees to serve as Directors must be signed by two current chapter members and received by the Nominating Committee by Friday, Oct. 18 (to office@cai-nc.org with subject line Additional BOD Nominee). If petition is received within this time, the Nominating Committee shall distribute a written ballot with the names of all eligible nominees, indicating whether each was nominated by the Nominating Committee or by petition. If no petitions are received within the time prescribed above, on the election date as set by the Nominating Committee of December 2, 2019, the nominees above shall be declared elected Directors of the Chapter.

Also please note per the bylaws: No candidate may campaign for election or cause another individual or individuals to campaign on behalf of the candidate. A candidate campaigning for election who is elected shall be disqualified from serving.

OVERVIEW OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS SERVICE:

The Board supervises, controls and directs the affairs and property of the chapter, serving as the governing body per chapter bylaws for 3-year terms. Its 11 members are elected to fill open seats by membership category in any given election year - homeowner, manager, business partner. Experience in prior leadership within CAI is highly valued by each year's Nominating Committee and should be taken into consideration by members supporting a nomination by separate petition. Members can express interest in Board service at any time for the following year, and each fall's nominating committee will be advised of their interest. Nominating Committees consider a variety of factors in developing each year's slate of candidates, and petition signatories are encouraged to consider these factors as well:

* Individuals' membership history in CAI and the NC chapter
* Individuals' history of active engagement with CAI and the NC chapter
* Individuals' past leadership positions within CAI and the chapter
* Individuals' experience with other professional organizations
* Individuals' skill sets
* Demographic, geographic and professional diversity of the board
